What is Raspberry Pi?

Raspberry Pi is a credit card-sized computer that you can attach to for example to your televesion. It's a powerful little PC that can do the same things as your desktop PC, such as word processing, web surfing, games or spreadsheet calculation. It can output HD quality video. It's size is  86mm x 56mm x 21mm and it weighs 45 grams.

The device has been really popular especially among the computer hobbyists because of it's openness. It's easy to install any operating system on and to learn how to program.

The hobbyists have come up with several use cases for it: jukebox, HTPC, arcade cabinet...

There are several versions of it. The most popular and newest models are Model A, Model B+ and Model 2 B. Model is the cheapest one and it doesn't include for example ethernet connection.
